Term 2 commenced with a Staff Development Day in which staff participated in a rotating series of activities including; non negotiables and behaviour management, supporting students with disability, Best Performance NAPLAN analysis training, how to construct valid and reliable assessment tasks and how to interpret the WACE tracker, career pages and data entry. These activities and workshops are designed to improve student performance and to support staff in establishing best practice for our Swan View Senior High School students. Feedback from staff indicated that all sessions were valuable.

As we enter Term 3 it is timely to remind the Year 10 and Year 11 students to give of their best in Semester 2. Year 10 course selections are made, based on achievement. Year 10 students who underperform risk not being able to enter their desired courses in Year 11. Only Year 11 students who pass a minimum of three courses will be granted direct entry into Year 12. This is to ensure that they are best placed to achieve their WACE in 2021.

I would like to take this opportunity to wish the Year 12 students every success for their final full Term at school. Make the most of this Term. Don’t finish the Term regretting the things you should have done. Strive to be the person you want to be. This is your time to shine.
