Our Head Girl Rachel Watson and Deputy Head Boy Anthony Hill represented our school with pride and respect at the Combined Schools ANZAC Service this week.

Joined by Dr Sekulla, they laid a wreath on behalf of our school community to honour the service and sacrifice of all who have served. Their conduct was a true reflection of our values.

Lest we forget.

This week, our Year 9 Japanese students stepped into the kitchen to create their own Harajuku-style crepes, a popular street food from Tokyo’s famous fashion district! The young people go to Takeshita street to shop for their favourite fashion items, then they might buy a crepe as they go by and enjoy it walking along and window shopping.

Students made one savoury and one sweet crepe. The savoury crepe was filled with a fresh lettuce leaf, tuna mayonnaise, and finely chopped long onion.

For the sweet version, students started with a custard and whipped cream base, then added their own creative toppings. Two students brought Nutella, and another added berries and banana – just like the colourful crepes you’d find on the streets of Harajuku!

Thank you to Mr Townsend for an Extraordinary way to bring Japanese culture to life in the classroom. Well done, everyone! 👏

Yesterday we proudly hosted the 2025 Stars Foundation AFL Carnival — an Extraordinary day filled with energy, teamwork and great sportsmanship. We welcomed 13 Stars Academies from across the state, along with vendors.

Our very own Stars students played with great sportsmanship, were Respectful and Extraordinary on and off the field.

A big congratulations to Cecil Andrews College for taking out the win in this year’s Carnival! The shield was proudly presented by our Principal - Dr Sekulla during the closing ceremony.

Thank you to everyone who helped make the day such a success — we can't wait to do it all again next year!

Our Follow the Dream Year 7 and 8 students whipped up the good old favourite – cinnamon scrolls – during last week's Maali Baking Academy session. And let’s just say… they were a massive hit! 😍

So popular, in fact, that students made sure to take the recipe home to recreate the magic with their families. ❤️

While the scrolls baked in the oven, our diligent and extraordinary students practised their culinary maths skills – showing off their sharp thinking in the kitchen. And of course, a big shout-out to Regina the Kitchenaid, who created a smooth and delicious cream cheese topping to take the scrolls to the next level!

The Maali Baking Academy runs every Thursday after school. Year 7 and 8 students who have attended school that day are welcome to join the fun.

This Thursday marks our final session for the Term – and we’re finishing with a tasty South American delight!
